Our award-winning Seamless Summer Meal Program is BACK!
We’re excited to kick off another summer of serving our community. The program will run from June 2 through July 16, 2026, providing free meals to all children 18 years of age and younger.
Meal Times:
Breakfast: 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Meals will be available at the locations listed below. Please note that sites will change throughout the summer, and a live, updated list will be available soon.

Register for Free School Supplies |
Helping Hands for Bartow Kids will host its annual Back-to-School Bash on July 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Plaza in downtown Cartersville.
Families who would like to receive free school supplies must register in advance. Please see the attached flyer and use the registration link below to sign up.

Beginning next school year, elementary school hours of operation will be from 7:50 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., with school doors opening at 7:00 a.m. for student arrival.
These changes are designed to improve operational efficiency while better supporting instructional time for students.
Approximately 95% of our elementary bus routes will experience no change. The remaining 5% of routes will see minimal adjustments.

New Cell Phone Policy for Elementary & Middle School Students |
All personal electronic devices, including headphones (wired headphones that plug into a laptop are permitted), smart watches, smart glasses, gaming systems, personal laptops, and cell phones, must be stored in a student’s backpack for the entire school day. This expectation includes class changes as well as lunch. Students who access their devices during the school day are subject to the Code of Conduct.
This expectation aligns with Georgia’s Distraction‑Free Education Act (HB 340), which requires school systems to limit student access to personal electronic devices during the school day in order to create a focused, distraction‑free learning environment.

Welcoming our New Principals |
Please join us in welcoming four outstanding leaders to new principal roles across the district:
Ashley Goble will lead Hamilton Crossing Elementary, bringing 26 years in education and 19 years of dedicated service in BCSS.
Judson Smith steps into the principalship at Allatoona Elementary with more than 21 years of experience, all in Bartow County.
Lindsay Perry will serve as principal of Cass Middle, transitioning from Hamilton Crossing Elementary.
Jennifer Suarez has been named principal of Red Top Middle, joining from Allatoona Elementary.
We’re excited for the leadership, experience, and commitment each will bring to their school communities!

Student achievement in Bartow County continues to climb, with high schools earning a record 13 Advanced Placement (AP) Honor School designations this year, more than DOUBLING from just five awards in 2018.
The recognition, issued by the Georgia Department of Education, reflects performance and participation in 2025 AP courses and exams. This year also brought an additional milestone for Cass High School, which earned one more award than in years past with the AP STEM Achievement School designation.

District Nurse of the Year |
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Lauren Lyle, our District Nurse of the Year and RN at Woodland High School!
Mrs. Lyle exemplifies excellence in school nursing through her dedication, expertise, and compassionate care for students each day. One example of her impact this year includes collaborating with Head Nurse Cary Eldridge to capture and securely share critical heart data for a student, supporting timely diagnosis and treatment.
We are incredibly proud of Nurse Lyle and the difference she makes for our students and schools every day.
